The holidays are coming up, and as all of us know it’s not just about giving – it’s about celebrating! Whether you’re looking to honor employees or to host a family affair, Sun Valley is an excellent place to party during the holidays.
In case you need some convincing–the town of Ketchum is easy to navigate and walkable; you can cross in a short twenty minutes. This tight-knit community paired with Christmas decor, lights, and falling snow makes the perfect backdrop for romance or relaxation.
Things to Do During the Holidays
There are plenty of activities to keep your crew entertained the days surrounding your holiday party. Choose from downhill or Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, visiting hot springs in the area, shopping, visiting art galleries and museums, art classes, or even bowling to keep the whole group busy.
Post activities, your party can chow down on some serious food. Choose from cheap, pricey, Mediterranean, American, Mexican, and Thai. Or, get your drink on at one of these cozy bars.
If you’re planning a party, here’s how to do it right.
Find a location
You’ll want to find a location quickly, as banquet rooms and restaurants book quickly. If you’re browsing, check us out; the Limelight Hotel in downtown Ketchum. We have 4,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Plus, you can block an entire floor so you can party and head straight upstairs without walking dashing through the snow.
Estimate what you’ll need for evening drinks. A good rule to follow is two people per bottle of wine, eight people per liter of spirits, or three beers per person. We typically recommend a mix of beverages to suit different preferences. If you want a professional’s opinion, our event staff can help!
Plan an activity for your crew for before and maybe the day after the event. Level the playing field by having your pre-party at the skating rink or the bowling alley in Sun Valley, or get the group’s blood moving with snowshoeing.
Whatever you choose to do, Sun Valley is a great place to do it, so hang some mistletoe (or don’t) and have a relaxing, fun holiday party.
