New Year’s Eve is hit or miss. Sometimes we get lucky and find the best party or event; sometimes we have high expectations and wake up feeling unsatisfied.
This is why you should probably just come to Aspen and call it a day.
Here’s your itinerary for New Year’s Eve weekend in Aspen.
During the holidays, Aspen becomes bustling with city dwellers and beach bums wanting to experience Aspen’s unique culture. And while skiing is part of this, the slopes rarely are crowded this weekend (there’s so much going on off the mountains). If you want runs to yourself, this weekend is surprisingly perfect.
While Aspen is known for its casual mountain chic dress code, New Year’s eve weekend is different. Visitors and locals alike are using NYE as an excuse to pull out their finest. Most NYE parties have themes, so use that as a guide and show up looking good.
Party with the Best
Most hotels and restaurants are having extravagant parties; we’re talking about free-flowing Dom Perigon and jungle themes. You should plan ahead and buy a ticket as many of these parties are already selling out.
Shameless plug: Limelight’s New Year’s Eve party, Champagne Dreams, is going to be one of the largest in Aspen. This year, we’re partnering with Aspen 82 for an open bar, two DJs, snacks, a photo booth, and more. Cozy up by the fire and dance your butt off in the same night. Get tickets here.
Enjoy the Show
Sneak out of your NYE party to watch Aspen’s firework display over Aspen Mountain. There are two shows that evening; 8 pm and midnight. Catch either (or both!) for a stunning show.
Don’t be Miserable
New Year’s Eve is sometimes synonymous with “hangover.” Luckily, Aspen locals know the best cures: skiing in the cool air the next morning (and maybe an in-room IV).
See you in 2017.
