If you’re planning a wedding, business meeting, or holiday vacation, you probably have some questions.

How far in advance should you realistically book for popular weekends in Aspen? While the number of hotel options in Snowmass is growing, Aspen has a finite number, so getting those requests in is crucial for sweat-free planning. Here are general guidelines for booking your big events and vacations in Aspen.

Weddings

Venues: Wedding season in Aspen is early June- early October and we see guests booking their venues the season prior. Some of the more popular wedding venues are booked a year in advance, but as long as you sign the dotted line by September of the previous season, you should be able to find a venue that suits your needs (and wants!)

Hotels: Hotel bookings for this season’s wedding weekends typically sell out by June, so tell your friends and family to book early.

Major Events

Major events in Aspen are things like FOOD&WINE Classic, The X Games, and Jas Aspen Snowmass. Booking 6-9 months in advance is recommended for these. FOOD&WINE is recommended to book as soon as hotel bookings are available; in most cases, this is 11 months out.

Business Meetings

Business meetings are best suited for mid-week when Aspen has more availability and shorter minimum stays. Throughout June and July, there are a number of festivals which take over Aspen, so if your company is flexible, we recommend August and September, Sunday evening through Thursday.

If you do choose to stay in Aspen during late summer, book 2-3 months in advance.

Christmas/ New Years

We’ll say this— it’s currently March and our hotel already has a waitlist for Christmas. If you want to celebrate the holiday in Aspen (who wouldn’t?), then we recommend planning and booking a full 11 months in advance. It’s also worth noting that there are 5-night minimum stays.

President’s Weekend

Presidents weekend is primetime for January skiing in Aspen, and it’s not a secret. We see this long weekend completely booked 6 months out, so if you’re planning on shredding, book asap.

Locals

If you’re a Denver, Ft. Collins, Grand Junction, or other Colorado resident and want to come to Aspen during the best value time, we recommend the end of September into mid-October. You’ll still have fall weather but get a great locals rate.

Booking wayyyy in advance is recommened for the above events. But once you’re here, it’s smooth sailing. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Aspen, we invite you, your friends, family, and business partners. Book for occasions now.
