It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Aspen Snowmass. The Holidays are approaching. Both Aspen Mountain and Snowmass Mountain have opened with impressive amounts of early season snow. Aspen Highlands is set to open a week early! And speaking of openings, we couldn’t be more excited about the official arrival of the Limelight Hotel Snowmass.
Limelight Hotel Snowmass features 99 guest rooms, an expansive lobby and state-of-the-art fitness facilities. Among the exciting features of Limelight Hotel Snowmass, we’re perhaps most proud to announce the hotel is ski in / ski out. No more attempts at walking on snow or ice in ski boots while hauling gear. Our ski valets are there to make sure you’re set every step of the way. They’ll get you the few steps to the Elk Camp Gondola so that you can focus on catching first tracks and beating the lift lines.
An added benefit of the ski valets? They will store your gear; leaving more room in your hotel rooms for guests to enjoy the free video streaming access, cozy signature robes, and an apres ski cocktail from the wet bar. But as nice as the rooms are, you’ll want to spend ample time resting those ski legs in the outdoor hot tubs or stretched out with s’mores at the outdoor firepit.
Beyond the lounge and dining options, there will be plenty of activities for guests of all ages. The new ice skating rink will be a centerpiece of the Snowmass Base Village area; Limelight guests are welcome to partake in complimentary skating and rentals (so there’s no need to pack your skates)! If skating isn’t preferred winter activity, take out a pair of complementary snowshoes on the Aspen Snowmass Nordic Trail System (over 60 miles of trails to explore. More adventurous guests may also want to partake in Colorado’s largest indoor climbing wall!
It wouldn’t be a Limelight Hotel without some special offerings that are exclusive to guests. The First Tracks program allows guests to cruise the perfectly groomed trails of Snowmass before the lifts open to the public. Taking place every Friday morning starting in January 2019, intermediate and advanced skiers will have the chance to go out with a guide and experience pure bliss, and maybe even a run on Sheer Bliss!
For those guests who aren’t early risers, there’s also the opportunity to experience Last Tracks with Snowmass Mountain Ski Patrol. Guests can head out with patrollers as they “sweep” the runs at the end of the day, ensuring that everyone is safely down the mountain before it is “put to bed” for the day. An added bonus? The Snowmass Mountain Ski Patrol’s highly trained avalanche dogs might be along for the ride.
With so much going on, it is also important to note the Limelight’s long-term commitment to sustainability. The hotel was designed to be a silver LEED Certified building. Single-use plastics are out, and reusable water bottle filling stations are in. Aspen’s tap water is better than bottled, and it tastes better from your camelback or a souvenir water bottle from the new Four Mountain Sports store located next to the Elk Camp Gondola.
Limelight Hotel Snowmass is pet-friendly and we have you covered in terms of transportation. You’ll be picked up from the Aspen Airport (just 7 miles away) in a complimentary shuttle designed to fit you, your family, and all of your gear. Shuttles are also there to whisk you away to any of the other four mountains in Aspen Snowmass if you want to go for a Bowl Hike at Highlands, truffle fries at Ajax Tavern, or a beginner lesson on the gentle slopes of Buttermilk.
