Ah, summer. Such a bittersweet goodbye.
Snow is dusting the peaks, and we’ll will soon be reveling in the steeps and deeps. It’s been an amazing summer in Aspen!
We’re going to miss those hot days and warm nights—with just enough nip in the air to keep the puffy on standby … bluebird skies over verdant greens and impressionistic wildflowers … blond beers and chilled wines and tapas on the patio … evening cruiser rides and sunset flycasting without waders … world-class festivals like Food and Wine, Aspen Ideas, Aspen Music, Mountain Summit and so many more.
Don’t get me wrong, the flaming glow of fall is spectacular, and we’re always stoked for pillowy powder. But here’s a toast to summer in Aspen with some spectacular scenes and amazing memories …
So many epic trails. So many epic hikes, trail runs and bike rides! Who needs snow when you’re carving two-wheeled turns like these?
There’s no more inspiring spot for yoga than the Sundeck. Sure, it’s great in winter too, but the extra warmth is the summer sun’s salutation to you.
Cheers to the hoppily epicurean nights of our Beer Dinner series. Kudos to Chef Joe Gonyo and all the good folks at Aspen Brewing Company, Roaring Fork Beer Company, Avery, Oskar Blues and New Belgium who made these gatherings amazing. Mmmm beer. Mmmmm Orange Dusted Sea Scallops marinated in Hoegaarden Ale….
The USA Pro Cycling Challenge is America’s greatest bike race, and Aspen is the greatest mountain town to kick it off. It’s always a blast to welcome the world’s best cyclists to town, then watch hometown boy Teejay Van Garderen beat them all to claim his second straight Pro Challenge overall title.
Summer beauty is unparalleled, but every season in Aspen holds its own. So until next year, farewell, Summer. Now, pray for snow! Check out more gorgeous snapshots from our Instagram feed.
