Art and culture thrive in Aspen, and the Aspen Arts Festival is your chance to take some of the city’s style home with you. Forget kitsch—this is Aspen. The 12th annual event brings an all-star lineup of artists and their collections of original painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, mixed-media and one-of-a-kind jewelry. The free, two-day event takes place July 26-27, 2014, from 10-5 each day. Here’s your insider’s guide to the Aspen Arts Festival.
Know Before You Go
Take a look at your walls. Got an empty or tired space that needs a creative touch? Measure it. And don’t forget open shelf or floor space where a sculpture—life-size maybe?—could set off your décor. That said…
Be Ready to Browse
Expect to find top-quality artists in this living gallery. Roam around and see what captures your imagination. Talk with the creators about their inspiration and take home a story to share with dinner guests about the latest addition to your collection.

Why mess with it? Stay at the Limelight. Exhibits run down Monarch Street for four blocks right outside our door. If you must stash your vehicle, your best bet is to look for all-day, special event access at the Rio Grande Parking Plaza.
Eat, Drink and Be Merry
Great food and drink are perfect pairings with great art. Step off the street into the Limelight Lounge. Head to Element 47 for a stunning array of wines. Take the family to Peach’s Corner Café for breakfast or lunch. And sample local suds at Aspen Brewing Company (on the corner of Monarch and Hopkins).
